There are other steps you can take to create a network in your area. After completing the steps listed below, you can solidify your growing network be creating a communication line.1. Create a text message network. This is how it works, you get the numbers of those within your groups, neighborhood watches, email lists etc... Everybody agrees to text those on the list (perhaps you create a buddy system to reduce multiple emails) if something big happens. It could be a severe weather alter, it could be a crime alert you pick up on your scanner. Whatever it is, your network will know what is going on.
2. Create and maintain an email list. Send out weekly emails and keep each other informed. Not only will you stay in contact, you'll also find out just how engaged those on your list are. If they are interested and troubled by the same things you are, you might end up on their email list and receving emails that tell you a lot about their interests.
